Services: A funeral service for James will be held on Friday, November 15th, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville with Rev. Fr. Tom Biersack presiding.
Visitation: A visitation will take place on Friday, November 15th from 12:00 (noon) p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
James Joseph Hilbert, age 75 of W2116 Farmersville Rd., Mayville passed away November 11, 2013 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
A funeral service for James will be held on Friday, November 15th, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville with Rev. Fr. Tom Biersack presiding. A visitation will take place on Friday, November 15th from 12:00 (noon) p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the service at St. Mary’s School in Mayville. Cremation will take place following the service at the Koepsell Funeral Home.
James was born on February 24, 1938 in Mayville to Nicholas and Helen (Rudinger) Hilbert. He was a 1957 graduate of Mayville High School. He was united in marriage to Mary F. Eggers on July 30, 1960 in Oakfield. He was employed at Gleason Reel Corp. for 44 years until he retired.
He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. James will be fondly remembered as a tinkerer of all things. He also enjoyed nature while camping. Most import to James was the time spent with his family and especially his grandchildren.
James is survived by his wife- Mary of Mayville. His children- Suzanne (Keith) Wendlandt of Beaver Dam., Theodore (Jamie) Hilbert of Mayville., and Benjamin (fiance Kari) Hilbert, Sr. of Waupun. His sister-Helen Reabe of Waupun. His brothers- Edward Hilbert of Mayville and Alphonse Hilbert of Sturgeon Bay. His sister in law- Margaret Hilbert of Mayville. 9 grandchildren- Brandon Schneider, Kristin Schneider, Benjamin Hilbert, Jr., Jessica Hilbert, Justin Hilbert, Jacob Hilbert, Alyssa Hilbert, Remington Hilbert, Justine Hilbert. 3 great grandchildren- Gwen Sankey, Solice Schneider, and Gabrielle Erwin. Further survived nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by- his parents, his son- Gregory Hilbert, his twin brother- William Hilbert, his brothers- Nicholas Hilbert, Francis Hilbert. His sisters- Margaret Hilbert, Laura (Edward) Wagner. 1 great grand daughter -Gracie Hilbert.
