Dear Lidtke Family, Our deepest and most sincere condolences to all of you, in the passing of a very dear friend and fellow Lion, Herb. Always with a smile, and a good word, when ever our path crossed, and most certainly at every Beaver Dam Lions Club meeting. He will truly be truly missed. We're so sorry to have missed his funeral, as we are still down here in Florida. May God's Richest Blessings continue to bring you consolation during this difficult time. Sincerely, Ted & Evelyn Meekma

Bob Meier (RJ's son) left a message on March 21, 2016:

Dear Lidtkes - a great man has passed from the land of the dying to the land of the living! Herb Lidtke was one of my dad's very best friends, and appropriately so - he was kind, honest, generous, dignified, gracious, humorous, and always had time to visit with us little folks in the midst the busyness of running a great business. I will always remember him with a great deal of respect and honor.

Don Roets left a message on March 20, 2016:

Our thoughts and prayers to all of you on the loss of Herb. I enjoyed my little visit with him at the nursing home a few weeks ago. He was a wonderful man and a great Lion. We were both involved in the Lion Eye Bank.

Larry Butterbrodt left a message on March 19, 2016:

My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Herb always had my respect and admiration. In my late youth I thought of him as another good father or role model in my life. Paul was my best friend in those years and Herb made me feel like a part of the family. I know he will be missed.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Gloria Berry left a message on March 18, 2016:

To Evaline and Family, I send my thoughts and prayers and deepest sympathy. Herb was a great man and I enjoyed his humor and our conversations at Lidtkes, and also at the Capri on occasion. I have moved to the KC area, therefore, I will not be able to attend his funeral. God Bless. He will be in your hearts, forever. Gloria Berry
