Marilyn B. Christian, age 93, of Hartford passed away peacefully on Monday, September 20, 2021 at the Waterford in Hartford.A funeral service for Marilyn will take place on Friday, September 24, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church (River Church), Tn. Theresa with the Rev. Douglas J. Zahner officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 23 from 4-6 p.m. at Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville and also on Friday, September 24 from 10-11 a.m. at the church in township of Theresa. Burial will take place at Immanuel Cemetery.Marilyn was born the daughter of Adolph and Viola (Beck) Wendegatz on November 11, 1927. She was united in marriage to Arnold Christian on November 2, 1946 in the township of Herman. Marilyn worked various part time jobs and retired from the Mayville School District where she worked in food service and as a custodian. She also helped farm with her husband in the township of Theresa. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in the choir and the Immanuel Ladies Aid (Immanuel Lights). She also took part in Farm Bureau and 4-H and also the Mayville Senior Center and Iron Ridge Golden Youth. Marilyn also enjoyed quilting, gardening, cards, bingo and listening to polka music. Family played an important role for Marilyn and she cherished the time spent with them.Marilyn is survived by her daughters- Nancy (Bill) Connell of Oconomowoc, Norene (Al) Gonring of Lomira, Marjean (Rick) Lerch of Theresa, Marsha (Dan) Roskopf of Mayville, and Annette (Bob) Foshey of Hartland. Daughter in law- Gloria Christian of Mayville. Her grandchildren- Melissa (Jesse) Decker, Dustin (special friend Lizzy) Christian, Anthony (Becky) Christian, Angela (Tim) Hillebrand, Ben Christian, Jody (Jake) Schlafer, Jill (Victor) Connell, Amy (special friend Nick) Curtis, Ryan (Corrine) Lerch, Kyle (Erin) Lerch, Nick (Katey) Roskopf, Jake (Krista) Roskopf, and Eric (Alexandra) Roskopf. Her 18 great grandchildren. Her sister- Darlene Ernisse of Kohlsville and brother- Delmer Wendegatz of West Bend. Further survived by other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnold, sons Loren and Allen, and a brother Allen in infancy.Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church.Special thanks to the staff at Waterford in Hartford and Preceptor Home Health and Hospice for the care and support shown to Marilyn and her family.
