Richard H Koltz, 77, of Beaver Dam passed away on Saturday, Aug 30, 2025 at his home in Bozeman MT.
Richard (Dick or Rich) was born the son of Howard and Viola (Hobson) Koltz on October 16, 1947. Richard grew up in Northern Illinois, where he was drafted into the Army and served in the 101st Airborne, completing a one-year tour in Vietnam. He served with honor and distinction. He was married to Janet R (Zahn) Koltz on October 24, 1970 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lomira. He was employed for over 30 years at the Dodge County Office buildings in Juneau, WI, where he worked in the maintenance and printing departments.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam until health issues moved him to Bozeman, MT for over a year before his passing. He was a member of the Beaver Dam VFW Post 1163. Dick enjoyed spending his time working in the garden, where he farmed vegetables and strawberries for many years to sell to the public. He touched the lives of so many in the community with his smile and friendly demeanor.
Richard (Dick) is survived by his sons: Daniel J. (Rebecca) Koltz of Bozeman, MT and Duane Koltz of Eden; five grandchildren: Abigail (Taylor Martin) Koltz-Martin of Belgrade MT, Caleb (Madisyn) Koltz, Belgrade MT and Seth Koltz of Bozeman, MT, and Kyle and Kody Koltz both of Eden; great grandchildren Elsie and Theordore Martin (Abigail/Taylor).
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Janet in 2021; sister Shirley Koltz; twin daughters: Debbie and Doreen and his daughter-in-law Carolyn Koltz.
A memorial gathering will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on October 11, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. Rev. Mark Reichert will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery where military honors will be conducted after a celebratory luncheon at the church.
