Dorothy C. Helbing, 103, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Charleston House Memory Care in Beaver Dam.
Dorothy was one of five daughters born to Felix and Clara (Grieger) Indermuehle on August 9, 1922 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Grade School and Beaver Dam High School. On August 6, 1943, she was united in marriage with Alfred E. Helbing at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church.
Dorothy was a faithful lifelong member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church; where she was baptized, confirmed in faith and married.
Dorothy will be deeply missed by her sons: Richard Helbing of Antigo and Dave (Kerry) Helbing of Sun Prairie; her daughter-in- law: Annette (Chuck) Sustman of Beaver Dam; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alfred, son Alan, grandson Jack and sisters: Alice Miller, Gladys Harder, Mildred Bischoff and Lorraine Seering.
A memorial gathering for Dorothy will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from noon until 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 300 West St., Beaver Dam. A memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Stratman officiating, immediately followed by a luncheon held in the fellowship hall of the church. Inurnment will be at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton, Wisconsin.
