Adeline Retzlaff

Adeline Retzlaff, age 91, of Theresa passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at the St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac.A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Theresa with the Rev. Jon A. Learman officiating. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday, December 6 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery in Theresa, WI. Adeline was born the daughter of William and Rosina (Brummond) Hahn on July 21, 1925 in Theresa. She was united in marriage to Milton A. Retzlaff on August 26, 1944 at St. Peter’s in Theresa. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Theresa faithfully serving as a Sunday school teacher, ladies aid member, custodian, and sang in the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Lutheran Women, Mission Society, and the Winnebago Lutheran Academy Auxiliary. Adeline enjoyed gardening and flowers and also growing pumpkins. With her husband, they enjoyed traveling and especially mystery tours. She also kept a journal of her daily life for much of her entire life.Adeline is survived by her son, Clifford (Sandy) Retzlaff of South Thomaston, ME; her grandchildren: Todd (Mary) Retzlaff, Brad (Jodi) Retzlaff, Shannon (Mike) Heuer, Courtney Retzlaff, and Natalie Retzlaff; her great-grandchildren: Skye, Alex, Rae, Emma, Josh, Cavan, Hannah and Brynn; her brother Marvin (Ardis) Hahn, her sisters in law- Bernice (Virgil) Metke, Mary Zuehlke, Bernice Hahn, and Bonnie Retzlaff. Her brother in law- Ray Voight. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by his parents, her husband, brothers Melvin and Merlin Hahn, sister Vanelda Trott, and her sisters and brothers in law. Memorials may be directed to St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Theresa.
