Allen D. “Butch” Schultz, age 68, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at his home in Beaver Dam. The Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146 will conduct military honors for Butch on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Koepsell Murray Funeral Home, N7199 North Crystal Lake Road at 4:00 PM. Immediately following the honors, there will be a memorial gathering at the funeral home from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Fr. Michael J. Erwin will conclude the memorial gathering with prayer services at 6:00 PM. Allen David Schultz was born on December 1, 1946 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Allen “Harv” and Leora (Jones) Schultz. After high school, Butch was stationed in the Philippines and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He attended UW Oshkosh and worked for K-Mart, Jones Cable, the Pyramid Restaurant as a bartender, and ultimately at Johnnies 66 in Beaver Dam. Butch was a longtime member of the Beaver Dam Cycle Club and was well-known for his beef and polies & kraut that was sold on race days. Family was very important to him; he was a loving husband, father and grandfather, or “Bumpa” as the grandkids called him. Survivors include his wife, Leann Schultz; six children, Naomi (Jeremy) Jones, Danielle (Scott Hannan) Bell, Rebecca Schultz, Deborah Arbogast, David Schultz, and Mitchel Schultz (special friend, Chellsie Holst); his grandchildren, Isaac & Greyson Jones, Brianna (special friend, Brady Hawkins), Mathew, & MaKayla Bell, Brody & Evan Arbogast, Grace Schultz, Airiel Schultz, and Scott & Alana Hannan; his mother, Leora Schultz Raisler, his sister, LaVonne Jones; his mother-in-law, Barbara Fanshaw; many nieces, nephews, sisters & brothers-in-law, and friends. Butch was preceded in death by his fathers, Allen “Harv” Schultz and Pat Raisler; his sister, Phyllis Metzler; and his father-in-law, John Fanshaw.
