Services: A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 5th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Mayville, WI with Rev. James Mallmann and Rev. Matthew Shive officiating.
Visitation: A visitation will be held on Friday, March 4th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, and also on Saturday, March 5th 10:00-11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Mayville.
Alvin ‘Red’ Toellner, 84 years old, of 271A S. Mountin Drive, Mayville, WI passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 5th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Mayville, WI with Rev. James Mallmann and Rev. Matthew Shive officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 4th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, and also on Saturday, March 5th 10:00-11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Mayville. Burial will follow the service at St. John Cemetery in Mayville. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69.
Alvin was born on June 19, 1926 to William and Agatha (Reinke) Toellner in Mayville. He married Lorraine J. Rombow on September 24, 1949 in Ashippun, WI. He later married Shirley Sulla on November 7, 1998 at St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville. He is a graduate of Mayville High School and retired from Mayville Metal Products.
Alvin was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville. Alvin was veteran of WWII, serving in the Army. He was a member of the Mayville American Legion Post #69, of the V.F.W. Post #10170, and also the D.A.V. of Beaver Dam.. He was also a member of the Mayville Golf Club and the Mayville Field & Stream Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting & fishing and the Horicon Marsh. Alvin also enjoyed his grandchildren’s sporting activities.
Alvin is survived by: his wife Shirley of Mayville; 4 sons- Allan (Janet) Toellner of Lomira, Wayne Toellner of Spooner, Dale (KweiLan) Toellner of Mayville, and Dennis (Sharon) Toellner of Wisconsin Rapids; 5 step-children- Mary Gospavic of New Berlin, Peggy (Gary) Mielke of Salem, Kathy (Chris) Bichler of Random Lake, Tom Giesegh of Milwaukee, and Greg (Pam) Giesegh of Upland, CA; 1 sister Lorraine Gregory of Waukesha; 1 brother Ray Toellner of Mayville, Sister-in-law Lola Toellner of Mayville, Step-daughter-in-law Michele Jones of Beloit ; 11 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 3 great grandchild; 5 step-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife Lorraine in 1997; 2 sisters; 2 brothers, Step-son Howard Jones.
