Angelika Ingrid Bender, age 77, of Mayville, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.
A Celebration of Angie’s life will take place on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville with Rev. Dr. Mark G. Cutler officiating. A visitation will take place on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m.
Angie was born the daughter of Harry and Elizabeth (Krawchek) Voelz on May 27, 1948, in Berlin, Germany. She was united in marriage to Wayne Bender on December 12, 1972, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville where she also was a member.
Angie was a dedicated worker and retired from Grande Cheese after 34 years. She loved to take care of those around her and was the hub of her family. She was known as Grandma Angie to her Mayville EMS family.
Angie loved to garden and travel. She was a huge Green Bay Packer Fan and adored Elvis. She had a soft spot in her heart for her cat and enjoyed her cat’s companionship.
Angie is survived by her son Harland (Keri) Bender and her grandson Landon. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Angie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wayne in 2017, and several of Wayne’s brothers and sisters.
The family extends with sincerest gratitude to the doctors and nurses at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison as well as the Mayville EMS. Your care and support during this time will always be appreciated.

Im so sad that I didn't get to say good bye. U were one of my favorite great aunts. When I was little I remember u always adoring me and as I grew up always commented about how much I was like a little Harland. U made me feel so loved. I last saw u at pig a couple years ago and we hugged .I didn't know that would be are final hug in this life. I will cherish the memories I hold in my heart of you. Im sad that we didn't stay in touch besides Christmas cards. I will see u again some day when the family is back together and whole again one day. Rest in peace aunt Angie. And you in my thoughts Harland. Miss u and hope to see you again soon.
