Annjeanette Lou Hildebrandt, age 81, died trusting in Jesus, her Lord and Savior, for forgiveness and redemption, and passed from life to Eternal Life on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
Annje was born December 15, 1942 in Oshkosh, WI to Ferdinand and Grace (Hedtke) Ziebell, and became a child of God when she was baptized at Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Her family moved to Horicon, WI in 1950 where she attended St. Stephen’s Lutheran Grade school, and was confirmed at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Horicon on April 14, 1957. She graduated from Horicon High School in 1961, followed by two years at Concordia College in St. Paul, MN receiving an Associate in Arts degree in 1963. She then studied to be a Deaconess for one year at Valparaiso University before returning to Horicon to work at John Deere. There she met the love of her life and best friend, Glenn Hildebrandt, and were united in marriage at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Horicon on April 23, 1966.
In 1973 they built their dream home in Beaver Dam, WI where she was an incredible homemaker and mother raising their three children. She also was a daycare mom for 22 years providing loving care for countless children in the Beaver Dam community.
Annje also loved reading, coloring, listening to all kinds of music, attending Community Concerts, and musicals at the Fireside. She and Glenn were blessed to travel across the United States and to Europe, but she loved being home with her family the most.
Glenn always said that Annje had the strongest faith in Jesus as her Savior from sin of anyone he knew, and knowing that Jesus is the One thing needful was the foundation of all she did. Annje was also very active in her churches over the years playing organ, singing in choir, and playing in the handbell choir.
In 2004, Annje miraculously survived a brain aneurysm and Glenn lovingly cared for her for the next 17 years. Annje lived at Eagle’s Wings Assisted Living in Beaver Dam for three years after Glenn went to heaven, and enjoyed the many new friends she had there. She spent her last months at Hillside Manor until she was taken to her eternal home in heaven.
Annje is survived by her children, Karina (Link) Gross of Port Washington, Nathan (Paula) Hildebrandt of Fond du Lac, and Daniel Hildebrandt of Slinger; and grandchildren, Cian Gross, Brandon (Samantha) Hildebrandt, Anika (Jason) Lindemann, Nathan Hildebrandt, Jr., Alyssa Hildebrandt, Alayna Blank, Morgan Blank, and Colton Blank. She told her family that she was holding on so she could see her great grandchildren, Maisy (2 yrs) and Clara Lou (2 days). She is also survived by siblings Loren (Sandra) Ziebell, Trudy Ziebell, Tim Ziebell, Grace (Bob) Ireland, Gladys Riley and Gloria Bell; many dear nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, her parents, her parents-in-law Lester and Anita Hildebrandt, and brother-in-law Bob Riley.
The family would like to thank everyone at Eagle’s Wings and Hillside Manor for the wonderful, loving and compassionate care that was given to Annje over the years. They also extend an extra special thank you to their aunt, Gladys Riley, for the 20 years of continued care, love, dedication and support that she showed mom, especially after dad’s passing.
The visitation will be at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 9:00 am to 10:45 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00am with Rev. Philip Heyer officiating. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Theresa at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Annjeanette L. Hildebrandt’s name to St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church to go towards missions.
