Antonio E. Lira

Antonio E. Lira, age 27, of Beaver Dam/Madison WI, died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 6, 2020, due to complications of COVID-19.A private funeral will be held.Antonio Ezequiel Lira was born on November 5, 1992 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Antonio and Teresa (Contreras) Lira. As a child, Tony was like any other kid; obsessed with Barney, Power Rangers, and his lifelong passions with Mickey Mouse and Selena. His early education started in in Early Childhood Center in Eagle Pass. Tony then attended elementary through high school in a mix between Mission, TX, Beaver Dam, WI and Madison, WI. He graduated from La Follette High in Madison in 2011. Tony attended Advanced College of Cosmetology in Waupun and became a licensed hairdresser. He loved to perform, and with that, he shined. Many were able to see just how special he was. Through high school, he was involved in choir and theatre. As an adult he also participated in The Wizard of Oz in Beaver Dam. Tony loved to sing and dance. He performed in drag shows and participated in pageants, performing reenactments such as “Hairspray”. He also shared his talent while as Vanilla Diamond at various charity events. His sparkle will be missed by so many.Tony is survived by his father, Antonio Lira; mother, Teresa Lira; sisters, Raquel (Raymundo) and Patty; nieces and nephews, Mayra (Lalo), Emilio, Claudia, Kassandra, Pedro Jr., Aracely, Raymundo Jr., and Salvador. Grandniece and nephews Medely, Max and Ediel; aunts, uncles; cousins; and his beloved friends and their families. He is also survived by his Texas girls, Andrea, Stephanie and April; his Beaver Dam girls, Kathy, Louisa, Katalina, Hollywood, and Bethany; his Madison family, Jose, Julianne, Cassandra, Brittany, Jordans, and Angelo; as well as his many career mates, Charity, Clara, Ariel, Bonnie, Katie, Beth and Morgan; his drag sisters, Amethyst, Anya, Persephone and Karma Mirage; all of Club Five, Hamburger Mary, Remix, Plan B Famalies; Yellow Brick Road Association; Club Icons, Noche Latinas, Lola Lue, Jasper; and his drag moms, Cass Marie and Tygra. All of these are only a few of the people that mean the most to Tony. There are so many other people that he considers family so please know that you were so special to him.Tony is reunited in his eternal life with his grandparents- Lucia, Salvador, Benita, and Atanacio; as well as his friends, Carmen and Victor.
