Barbara K. Fanshaw, age 81, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Barbara Kay was born on November 2, 1944, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, to Harold and Marian Stegner. She was united in marriage to John Fanshaw at her family home on September 30, 1972. Together they were blessed with eight children and built a life centered on faith, family, and love.
Barb was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished time with her family. She was always willing to help care for her grandchildren and treasured every opportunity to be part of their lives. She worked for many years at Beaver Dam Community Hospital and later at Eagle’s Wings Nursing Home until her retirement.
Barb found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved feeding the birds that visited her yard and eagerly awaited the arrival of spring so she could enjoy the flowers she had planted around her home. Many afternoons were happily spent sitting on her back porch, taking in the beauty of nature. She also looked forward to weekly dinners with her dear friends and had a special affection for her granddog, Greta.
Barb will be remembered for her caring heart, quiet strength, and the love she shared so generously with her family and friends. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
Barbara is survived by her children, Therese (Roy) Voight, Marylee (Mark) Fanshaw, Leann Schultz, Steve (Laurie) Fanshaw, Brenda (Tony) LoPresto, Gina (Don) Elliott, Linda (Kent) Thurston, and Jacklynn (Chad Henriksen) Fanshaw; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, Howard Stegner; sister, Linda (Dan) Beske; and many faithful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Fanshaw; sons-in-law, Butch Schultz and Scott Neuendorf; and sister -in-law, Mary Stegner.
