Betty F. Tietz

Betty F. Tietz, 83, of Juneau passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau. Betty Florence was born the daughter of Mathias and Charlotte (Reany) Kolb on February 5, 1934 in Fond du Lac. She was raised and attended grade school in Rosendale, WI. She was a 1951 graduate of Juneau High School. Betty was married to Palmer “Pete” Tietz on September 26, 1953 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau. Betty was a dedicated homemaker and was employed with the Dodge County Dairy Testing as a lab technician. Betty was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau where she was a member of the ladies aid serving as past president and volunteered at the pre-school. She was a 4-H leader in Dodge County for 40 years. Betty’s passion was sewing and it was her gift of love. Betty is survived by her husband, Pete of Juneau; her children: Ken Tietz of Beaver Dam, James (Trudy) Tietz of Fond du Lac, and Carol (Gregory) Hermanson of Antioch, IL; her siblings: Mathias (Mary) Kolb of Juneau and Patricia (Daniel) Oliver of Beaver Dam; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John Kolb Sr.; her sister, Gloria Godsell; and her daughter-in-law; Janet Tietz. A visitation will be held at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 and also on Thursday, November 2nd from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Juneau City Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the church.
