Betty J Bergen

Betty J. Bergen, age 91, of Beaver Dam, died on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at her home. The visitation will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. There will also be a visitation at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Mike Erwin officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam. The former Betty Jean Pardee was born on February 20, 1924 in Baldwin City, Kansas to Donald and Madge (McCall) Pardee. On June 24, 1946 she was united in marriage with Dr. Paul M. Bergen in Norway, Michigan. His career led them to Beaver Dam in the late 1940’s where they made many memories. Betty loved to travel, especially to Door County in the fall each year. She looked forward to Concerts on the Square with her daughter, enjoying many different genres of music. She was a longtime member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish. Betty is survived by her children, Bill (Margaret) Bergen of Waupun, and Peggy Bergen of Beaver Dam; grandchildren, Ryan Bergen, Justin Bergen, and Amanda (Troy) Hielsberg; great grandchildren, Tiffany and Angela Hielsberg and Cassidy Bergen; step sister, Althea (Paul) Matthews of Arizona; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. If desired, memorials may be made in Betty J. Bergen’s name to the Dodge County Humane Society or to the Beaver Dam Community Theatre.
