Betty Giese, age 93, of Beaver Dam passed away to her Heavenly home on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Charleston House in Beaver Dam. She was born on October 15, 1925 in Lost Lake, WI, the daughter of Frank and Adela (Ufer) Newman. She was married to Arden S. Giese on August 18, 1945. Betty was a life-time member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam and served on the Christian Mother’s Organization. She was involved with the Girl Scouts of America, and spent a few years as a Welcome Wagon Representative along with working the voting polls for many years. Betty enjoyed collecting antiques, taking walks and traveling. She was an avid golfer at the Beaver Dam Country Club for many years. Betty will be missed by her 3 children; Michael A. (Ginny) Giese, Seattle, WA, Paulette (John) Newman, Englewood, FL, and BJ (Mark) Muraglia, Beaver Dam, 3 grandsons; Mike Giese, Jr., Lee Bely, and Jesse Newman, 3 granddaughters; Ashley, Patricia, and Bianca Muraglia, and 12 great-grandchildren, sisters; Loretta Richter, Fall River, Mary Petrie, Lake Geneva, June Miller, Fall River, Elaine (Gregory) Becker, Red Wing, MN, Maxine (Richard) Kaiser, Beaver Dam and 1 brother; Ronald Newman, Madison. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arden, infant daughter; Deborah Kay, sisters; Lucille Fullerton, Lee Staple and La Verne Vockroth, 1 brother; Francis E. Newman. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 5th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church (Mission Hall) in Beaver Dam. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Father Michael Erwin officiating. Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
