Betty J. Schack

Betty Jane Schack, age 88, of Beaver Dam passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Meriter Hospital in Madison surrounded by her family. A funeral service for Betty will be held on Thursday, January 3 at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam with the Rev. Bob Moberg officiating. A visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at church. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in Tn. Trenton. Betty was born the daughter of Clifford and Esther (Weichbrodt) Wegner on July 14, 1930 in Horicon. She was a graduate of Horicon High School. Betty was united in marriage to William J. Schack on October 31, 1953 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon. Betty had worked for over 23 years at Coca Cola Bottling Co. of Beaver Dam. Betty and Bill enjoyed gardening, traveling, and of course spending time with their family. Dancing was also a love of theirs and they were members of the Swingin Beaver Square Dance Club and the Prison City Round Dance Club. Betty was a member of First Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Betty is survived by her husband Bill of Beaver Dam. Her children- Becky (Norm) Fjelstad of Edgerton, Mark (Sherri) Schack of Tomah, and Beth (Marc) Storch of De Forest. Her grandchildren- David (Elizabeth) Fjelstad, Elizabeth (Daryl) Kreckow, Janessa (Andrew) Katzenberger, Paul Schack, Emily (Brandon) Goetzman, Matthew Schack, and Katherine Storch. Her great grandchildren- Evelyn, Layla, Cecelia, Jonathan and one great granddaughter on the way. Her sisters- Shirley (David) Andorfer of Hot Springs Village, AK., Joyce (David) Hammond of Seattle, WA. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Special thanks to the oncology doctors and nurses at Beaver Dam Hospital and also for the excellent care shown to Betty at Meriter Hospital in Madison.
