Brenda L. Binder

Brenda L. (Vorpahl) Binder, passed away peacefully New Year’s Day, 2015 at Parkside CareCenter in Little Chute, WI. A funeral service for Brenda will take place on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon with the Rev. Daniel Seehafer officiating. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Horicon from 4 – 7 pm and again on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the church from 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am. Burial will take place at Oakhill Cemetery in Horicon, WI.Brenda was born the daughter of Tom and Lucille (nee Bechert) Vorpahl on April 23, 1950 in Beaver Dam. Brenda was a member of the class of 1969 at Horicon High School and had been a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church prior to her move to the Appleton area, where she became a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Appleton. She had currently been a resident at Kimberly Assisted Living, prior to her taking ill.Brenda will be remembered for her love of Elvis Presley, Friday night fish frys and dressing up for Packer and Badger games. She loved the holidays and Packer parties. She also looked forward to her Horicon High School class reunions, which her sister Sharon took her to each year. Brenda never forgot who her friends or classmates were. She enjoyed phone calls, cards, letters and visits from family members and classmates.Brenda made numerous friends along the way from her different residences in Horicon, Beaver Dam, Appleton and Kimberly. She will also be remembered by those friends she made thru her kidney dialysis in Appleton for the past three years.Brenda is survived by the joy of her life, her son- Brian (Jennifer) Binder of Arlington, TX. Her granddaughter- Mya. She is further survived by her siblings- Carol Nehls of Watertown, Sharon Bergsma of Appleton, Wayne (Art Vietro) Vorpahl of White Plains, NY and Marion (Jim) Roovers of Kimberly. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents Lucille and Tom Vorpahl, and brother-in-law, Ron Bergsma.The family would like to thank Appleton Medical Center, Kimberly Assisted Living, Parkside Care Center,Theda Care Hospice, Community Care Partnership and the Fresenius Medical (dialysis) Clinic for their care and attention in Brenda’s final days.
