Brian Hughes

Brian Hughes, 49, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at UW Hospital in Madison. Brian was born on April 19, 1969 to Fred and Marilyn (Loeder) Hughes in Beaver Dam. Brian worked until he was unable to work anymore due to declining health in May of 2017. He had been employed as a cab driver and later as a dispatcher in Fond du Lac for the past 20 years. He was a member of Trinity Church United Methodist in Beaver Dam. Brian had a quick wit and humor about him that made him a likeable soul. He made many friends over the years. Brian is survived by his father Fred Hughes of Beaver Dam; his sister Christine (Justin) Shananaquet of Lowell and his brother Richard (Sandra) Hughes of Beaver Dam; nieces Amanda (Brandon Burnett) Shananaquet, Carrie (Kyle) Sires and Katrina (Jake) Wietzke; great nieces and great nephews: Racquel, Evan, Jaelynn, Griffin, Phoenyx, Gemma Rose and Liam. He was further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Hughes on January 20, 2017, maternal and paternal grandparents and other family members. Brian fought with much courage this past year. He had been in and out of the hospitals and living with his sister, Chris for seven months. She will always cherish the time they had to reconnect as siblings. She promised Brian they were in this together to the end and they were, until Brian took his last breath. A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 from Noon until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Church United Methodist in Beaver Dam. Rev. Cherie Forret will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, township of Trenton. The family would like to thank Beaver Dam EMS, Beaver Dam Community Hospital ER staff and UW Hospital Cardiac IUC staff for everything they did for Brian and his family to help all of them through this most difficult time.
