Bruce James Sponholz, age 65, of Theresa, Wisconsin, passed to his eternal resting place with Jesus on Friday, June 21, 2024, with his wife, kids, and grandkids by his side.
Funeral services for Bruce will take place on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Christian Life Fellowship in Mayville with Pastor Matt Lewandowski officiating. A visitation for Bruce will take place on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Christian Life Fellowship from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m.
Bruce was born in Milwaukee, WI on December 3, 1958. He was the son of Robert Sponholz and Carole (Grimm) Sponholz. Bruce attended Custard High School in Milwaukee. After high school, he married and had 4 children. On February 14, 2001 Bruce found love again and was united in marriage to his soulmate Cindy Everson.
Bruce worked as a machinist at Maysteel until he was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2005. Over the years he had many health curveballs thrown at him. He continued to live a life full of faith and never complained. He always thanked God for everyday he had no matter how tough the day was for him.
Bruce had a passion for classic cars and entered his ‘72 Gran Torino into car shows to raise awareness for Pulmonary Fibrosis with Project Breathless. He even took first place at World of Wheels.
Bruce enjoyed his family, bicycling, working out, car shows, classic cars and hot rods. He took pride in watching his grandchildren grow.
Bruce had a huge heart for animals. He took in dogs who were most in need of love and made sure they lived their best life.
Bruce is survived by his wife and soulmate, Cindy Sponholz; his children: Michael (Heather) Sponholz, David (Amanda) Sponholz, Chris Sponholz, Amy (JB) Bell, and Tiffany (Jason) Robson; grandchildren: Jimmy, Makayla, Joshua, Jayden, Dominic, Joey, Sapphire, Mason, Briana, Elijah, Jake, and Madison; his puppy babies: Henry, Nene and Baby Girl; siblings: Bob Sponholz, Leeann (George) Govas, Michelle (Chris) Austin, and Scott Sponholz. Bruce was further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Bruce was preceded in death by his dad Robert and mom Carole.
In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to the family are appreciated.

My condolences to Bruce's family and friends. I worked with Bruce back in the late 70s/early 80s at Mechanical Industries, along with his brother Bob, and my brother, Dave. The four of us became close friends and spent many times together off work hours.
Bruce and I shared a common interest, long-distance cycling. Even during his last years when he wasn't able to ride anymore, he regular offered me encouragement and gratitude for our common passion of being out along the roads of God's beautiful creation.
Bruce, I feel confident that we will see each other again one day in heaven. Well done, brother. Your life has brought honor to our Savior. You have reached the glorious finish line.
