Carol A. Lockwood

Carol A. Lockwood, age 81, died Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Visitation for Carol will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home on Monday, July 29, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. There will also be a visitation at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church on Tuesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Will Arnold will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Carol Anne Kunkle was born on April 7, 1943, in Wahpeton, North Dakota to the late George and Myrtle (nee: Jacobson) Kunkle. After moving to Wisconsin, she attended Beaver Dam High School. On October 17, 1959, she was united in marriage with Harold “Butch” Lockwood at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. He preceded Carol in death on January 23, 2023.

Carol worked at Shopko in Beaver Dam for 30 years. She served as a playground supervisor at St. Katharine Drexel School for many years. Carol’s hobbies included bingo, crossword puzzles, and picture puzzles. Carol’s priority was her family and she cherished times spent together. Carol was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam where she was active with the Catholic Women Society.

Survivors include her three children, Mark (Sandi) Lockwood, Jacqueline Lockwood, and Todd (Tani Miller) Lockwood; six grandchildren: Eric Lockwood, Brandon Lockwood, Bradley Banker, Hannah Lockwood, Emily Lockwood and Ashley Bergemann; eight great grandchildren, Grace, Elias, Brooks, Matyx, Koyer, Beckett, Parker, and Lily Mae; sisters, Janet (Terry) Karst, Phyllis Marthaler, and Cyndi (Andrew) Smazinski; brothers-in-law, Michael (Melissa) Lockwood and Robert Sumnicht; her aunt, Bernadette Jacobson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, James Kunkle; two sisters, Mavis Sumnicht and Dorene Quam; two brothers-in-law, Fredrick Lockwood, Jr. and James Marthaler; and a sister-in-law, Judy Kunkle.

If desired, memorials may be made in Carol A. Lockwood’s name to St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Hillside Manor or the American Cancer Society.
