Charles L. Hodgkins, Jr.

Charles L. Hodgkins, Jr., 50, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Meriter Hospital in Madison. Charles was born the son of Charles Hodgkins, Sr. and Regina (Street) Lewis on January 11, 1971 in Portage, WI. On October 21, 2017 he was united in marriage to Joycelyn Chase in Springfield, MO. Charles enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Charles attended Ozarks Technical Community College in Missouri where he became a certified truck driver. After he was certified he started driving for Legacy in Springfield, MO. He was a truck driver for 13 years. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; four sons, Jake (Ada) Hodgkins of Missouri, Aaron Caldwell of Tennessee, Daniel (Jackie) Chase of Beaver Dam, and Henry Barron of Beaver Dam; a daughter, Lori Hoddel (Ken Williams) of Waupun; a brother, Fred (Dana) Hodgkins; three sisters, Bonnie (Paul) Hoddel of Waupun, Brenda Hodgkins “Tanya Johnson” of Kewaskum, and Leslie (Seph DeRuiter) Hodgkins of Missouri; five grandsons, Zach Ryan, Damion Hodgkins, Damien Chase, Bracyn Chase, and Colton Barron; three granddaughters, Hailie Gerarden, Ally Chase, and Heavenly Barron; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Charles is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Earl Lewis; step-daughter, Christine Barron; paternal grandparents; maternal grandparents; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Daniel Chase passed away on October 17, 2021. A Celebration of Life for Charles will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Sweet Victory Baptist Church, 130 S. Spring St., Beaver Dam, Wi 53916.
