Cheryl A. Poetter

Cheryl A. Poetter, 69, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

Cheryl Ann was born on July 27, 1956 the daughter of Ronald G. and Peggy D. (Dunn) Pearson in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.  She was a 1974 graduate of Beaver Dam High School.  On February 9, 1974, she was united in marriage with Richard “Dick” Poetter at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.

Cheryl was a devoted member of First Ev. Lutheran Church and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  A dedicated homemaker, Cheryl found great joy in caring for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home.  She had a passion for genealogy and enjoyed researching family history preserving treasured memories for future generations.  Cheryl will be remembered for her love, kindness and devotion to her family.

Cheryl will be deeply missed by her husband Richard “Dick”; her sons: David J. Poetter and Michael S. Poetter all of Beaver Dam; her grandson Daniel J. Poetter of Fort Atkinson; her mother Peggy Pearson of Beaver Dam; her sister Coleen (Daniel) Rechek of Hancock; her brothers: Raymond (Diana) Pearson and Patrick (Lisa) Pearson both of Beaver Dam; her brother-in-law Jim Poetter; her sisters-in-law: Karen (Ken) Gertsch, Roxanne Poetter and Rhonda (Dave) Thiel.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Ronald and her mother and father-in-law Mae and Herbert Poetter.

A visitation for Cheryl will be held at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev. Jim Wendt will officiate. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Memorials are appreciated in Cheryl’s honor. Due to family allergies, flowers are not desired.
