Chris J. Rueter, age 53, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully surrounded by family on November 8, 2024, at UW-Hospital in Madison.

Chris was born July 13, 1971 in Beaver Dam, to Russel and Barbara (Heimler) Rueter. He was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. He worked as a production supervisor with Anchor Lamina, always displaying dedication as the go to guy for over 30 years. He married the love of his life, Traci L. Hauge-Stofflet, on March 5, 2010, in Beaver Dam. Together, they blended their beautiful family of 6. Chris was truly respected by others and touched many lives with his soft heart and protective nature. Chris lived his life partaking in his favorite hobbies; watching his children play sports, gardening, and hosting family and friend gatherings. As a dedicated family man, movie nights were always cherished in the Rueter household, especially when the big guy with a soft heart would shed a tear. Even as a hard worker, Chris would love to spend the end of his week going to supper clubs, enjoying whiskey sours and fish fries, with the company of his loving wife Traci and his lifelong friend Jeff.

Along with his wife, Traci Rueter, he is survived by his children, Jake Rueter (Juanita), Miranda Rueter, Brody Stofflet, and Kobi Rueter and the family dog, Scruffy. He is further survived by his mother, Barbara (Craig) Rake; step mother, Cindy Rueter; and siblings, Kim (Craig) Newton and Wayne (Laura) Rueter; and step siblings. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Vincent, Annabelle, and Evangeline Rueter. He is further survived by other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Russel Rueter; grandparents, Jim and Betty Heimler; and other aunts and uncles.

Family, friends, and others whose lives were touched by Chris are invited to a memorial gathering at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Stratman officiating.

So sorry to hear about your loss. Praying for your family

Chris was a wonderful mentor when I recently worked at Anchor Lamina as a part-time (spring) tester. He helped me understand and navigate the always changing dynamics in a production environment. Not only was Chris supremely knowledgeable about operating the company's unique machinery, but more significantly, Chris was a master at empathetically supporting every employee to foster their personal comfort and emotional stability in an environment having many challenges - often using some humor to jump the hurdles. Anchor Lamina manufactures many kinds of metal springs used worldwide in very demanding applications. My regards to my former fellow employees and a hearty salute to Chris who will be greatly missed as a very caring, genuine person.
