Clara A. Biel, age 97, of Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, December 17, 2006 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 131 W. Maple Ave. Beaver Dam, from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at the church at 11:00 AM. Fr. John Schreiter will officiate. Burial will be in Annunciation (St. Mary”s)Cemetery at Lost Lake.
Clara Adelade Biel was born on September 1, 1909, in the Town of Calamus, Dodge County, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Nico) Biel. Clara was a telephone operator in Beaver Dam. She moved to Florida in 1948 and was a sales clerk at Burdine”s in Miami for many years. She was a past member of t St. Helen Catholic Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and now a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish. Clara moved back to Beaver Dam in 2004. Clara was an extra ordinary kind and generous person. When she lived in Florida, her home was always open to the many visitors from Wisconsin. In her younger years she was a caregiver for her mother and later in life cared for her brother, Alvin and her sister, Esther.
Survivors include her two nieces, Carole Graff of Wauwatosa and Geraldine Riese of Beaver Dam; her nephew, Delwyn (Mary) Biel of Randolph; her two nieces-in-law, Emajean Graff of Beaver Dam and Elaine Graff of Grayslake, IL, great nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, Leonard and Alvin Biel; her two sisters, Alma Graff and Esther Biel; her two nephews, Donald and Kenneth Graff and her niece, Leona Everett.
