Clara Margaret (Kurzinski) Wing of Beaver Dam, WI (formerly of Briggsville, WI) passed away September 24, 2024 after a long and full life.
She was born at home on November 24,1930 in Knowlton, WI. Clara was the sixth of eight children of Sophie Viola (Schultz) and Vincent Matthew Kurzinski. She met her husband, Edwin Hull Wing while he was on leave from the Korean War, married a week later and shared 53 years together. She was proud of being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Clara had a love for the outdoors, enjoying fishing, deer hunting, snowmobile racing in Fox Lake, WI, and trap shooting in Beaver Dam, WI. As a teenager she began baking bread for her family. She will be remembered for the delicious bread and cinnamon rolls she continued to bake for family and friends well into her later years.
Most of her working years were spent as a waitress and bartender. People may remember her from Voelker’s Steakhouse and Franke’s Bar in Beaver Dam, WI where she worked for many years.
She is survived by 6 of her 7 children: Jeannie (Ed) Patrick, Mark (Nickie) Tarwid, Debbie (Bill) Schrank, Melodie (Tom) Willihnganz, Bonnie Kalbus and Edwin R. “Tiger” Wing; Grandchildren: Patricia Kuzyk, Kari (Mark Webster) Lalk, Brian (Jodie) Tarwid, Gina Tarwid Polzin, Alisa (Mark Schaedler) Hoyt, Amanda (Michael) Shady, Steven (Tracy) McDermott, Bradley (Tamara) McDermott, Roxanne (David) Staehler, Eric (Angela McJunkin) Wood, Logan (Nancy) Schrank, Tanner (Andrea Duarte) Schrank, Sarah Willihnganz, Sonali (Sam Freeman) Willihnganz, Molly (Sam Meyerson) Willihnganz, Sophie Willihnganz, Andrew Turney, Matthew (Nikki) Buckett, Jennifer (Jason) Ballenger, and Katie Kalbus; 25 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Sharon Kurzinski and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin H. Wing (2005), daughter Cynthia McDermott (2021), her parents Sophie and Vincent Kurzinski and seven siblings Sophie, Bernard, Regina, Rozella, Bernice, Martin and Sylvester.
There will be no public funeral service. Interment of ashes will be at Briggsville Protestant Cemetery. You are invited to celebrate her memory in your own way knowing that she will always be with us in spirit.
