Clarence W. Wasmund

Clarence W. Wasmund, age 95, of Iron Ridge, WI, passed away on December 20, 2015 at Kathy Hospice in West Bend. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Zum Kripplein Christi Ev. Lutheran Church in Tn. Herman, with Rev. Daniel Babinec presiding. A visitation will be held on December 26 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at church. Inurnment will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery.Clarence was born on March 16, 1920 the son of Paul and Esther (Runge) Wasmund in Underhill, WI. He was united in marriage to Esther E. Neitzel on February 3, 1945 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Tn. Theresa. He spent his life farming in Iron Ridge. He was an active member of Zum Kripplein Christi Ev. Lutheran Church, where he was on the school board and also on church council. He was a past member of the Iron Ridge Fire Department. In his spare time Clarence enjoyed trips up north to Chute Pond in Oconto County. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing cards.Clarence is survived by his wife of 70 years, Esther of West Bend. His children- Arlene Wasmund of Lomira, Marilyn Braun of Iron Ridge, Karen (Daniel) Nickel of Iron Ridge, Brenda (James) Herther of West Bend, Janet (Steven) Lichtensteiger of Cecil, Darryl (Lori) Wasmund of Mayville, and Darris (Jill) Wasmund of Horicon. Son in law- Craig Aufderheide of Lomira. His sisters- Dorothy Saffouri, Florence Neitzel, and Marion Pederson. 26 grandchildren, 44 greatgrandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Loraine, son in law Tom Braun, brothers Robert and Norman, sisters Ethel Polzin and Helen Brandt.Special thanks to the staff of Kathy Hospice in West Bend for all of their wonderful care and support shown to Clarence.
