Inurnment will follow at Annunciation Catholic Cemetery on Breezy Point Road, Town of Trenton, Fox Lake. After the burial, a luncheon will be held at St. Katharine Drexel Mission Hall
She was born on April 5, 1928 in Milwaukee, the daughter of John and Regina (Stroinski) Craw. Corinne grew up in St. Francis, was a 1946 graduate of St. Mary’s Academy and a 1947 graduate of Helen Beverly Modeling School.
After graduating from high school Corinne worked as a receptionist for Dun and Bradstreet and also modeled for department stores in downtown Milwaukee. Throughout high school Corinne worked as a ‘soda jerk’ at the local drugstore and that is where she met Orv Lamers, a high school student at St. Francis Seminary, which was just down the street from the drugstore. They knew they were meant for each other soon after they met, and Orv made frequent visits to the drugstore to be with his favorite soda jerk. Corinne wrote letters to Orv every day while he served in the Army from 1945 to 1946 and then married him, the love of her life, on October 9, 1948. They built their first home in Greenfield in 1955 and then moved to Beaver Dam in 1960, where they raised 5 children.
While living in Beaver Dam, Corinne was a member of Christian Mother’s at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, volunteered as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader and was a part time receptionist for Coca Cola Bottling Co. She joined Welcome Wagon (WW) International around 1968 as a WW hostess for Beaver Dam, Horicon, and Mayville. After being promoted to Supervisor and then District Manager for Wisconsin and parts of Northern Illinois, she excelled and received several top awards until she retired after 25 years.
Corinne treasured spending time with all of her family and valued every moment she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling with her husband on his business trips throughout Wisconsin. She loved dancing with her favorite partner (and love of her life, Orv), and they danced wherever the music played, even if there wasn’t a dance floor.
Special memories were made while living in their country home alongside the Rock River outside of Waupun from 1974 to 2002, vacationing in Northern Wisconsin “every” summer (and more) since the late 1950‘s and sharing their timeshare with family and friends. She also loved to read a good book, listen to music, play the slot machines, play poker with special friends and enjoyed a vodka on the rocks with a twist.
Corinne was a beautiful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be deeply missed by everyone who loved her.
Corinne is survived by her children: John (Nancy) Lamers of Eagan, MN; Chris (Tim) Neuman of York, SC; Deb Lamers of Madison; Dave (Debbie Sue) Lamers of Beaver Dam; and Patti (Bill) Fink of Fond du Lac; her grandchildren: Andrew (Breann MacFadyen) Lamers; Adam Lamers; Justin (Amber Dellger) May; Dan (Melissa) Lamers; Nicole (Michael) Mullaney; Tony (Brooke) Fink; and Jon Fink; and her great grandchildren: Blake; Drew; Alayna; Jada; Allison; Tyler; Oliver; and Keira. She is further survived by her sister, Audrey (Pieterick) Blair; special cousins; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 55 years, Orville “Orv” J. Lamers; and her loving sister, Jackie.
Corinne’s family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Rebecca and Mary at SSM Clinic in Fox Lake for their special care and kindness through the years and also to the nursing and support staff at Hillside Manor Nursing Home and Hillside Hospice for their care and support.
