Corkey Deford was a great friend of mine. "Corkey" painted my 1967 FORD MUSTANG in the latter part of the 70's which made it in several car magazines, one in specific was : CAR CRAFT, then in Hot Rod. Other Mustang Magazine's followed. The car had the license plate "PONY". Corkey and I were members of the Wisconsin Street Rod Association for years. I'am truly sorry for the loss of a great man and friend. I'am thankful to have known him. 🕇
I just heard about Corky's passing today. I heard from Jamie Lau who worked with Corky at Mutual Auto Body. I met Corky about 1962 he worked painting at Nodell Cadillac. Corky got me a job painting with him at Mutual A/B in 1969 and I worked with him for 4 years, he taught me a lot. Linda and I were at his house quite a few times when Joyce was still alive. I drove the "49" Olds back from Shanno when he bought it.
Norm Finger {Mutual A/B} and I were always going to get together with Corky but unfortunately life seems to get in the way. My deepest sympathies to Jody and Billy and the grand children who I'm sure loved him very much.
Corky was a great guy and will be missed. I have nothing but good memories when I think of him.
