Darlene Reise, age 65, of Juneau passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Juneau.
A memorial service for Darlene is being planned for a later date.
It was a slightly overcast day of 52 degrees on November 12th, 1956, in Syracuse, but im sure excitement filled the air as Ricky and Pudgy Dukes were about to welcome their 3rd of 4th child. As Debbie and Ron patiently waited for the Arrival from their home Darlene Lynn Dukes was about to arrive with a smile, she arrived healthy and ready to face the world. At most times she did face this world and sometimes she even attacked it. Darlene and her family moved to Horicon in June of 1961. Growing up she attended St. Malachy School for a few years and then transferred to Public Schools. Darlene was known in her youth for many things she loved Drum and Bugle corps and even was instrumental in starting a Local Competition Drill team. Darlene was also very committed in playing and managing several softball teams. While being known for home runs, she could pitch and run the team from the pitcher’s mound. Darlene also enjoyed Cribbage, Sheepshead and any dice game you were willing to play. In October of 1979 She Married Ken Riese which blessed her with 3 wonderful sons and their Families. While raising her family she held a few jobs but most of her career was spent with MEC. Darlene volunteered many years teaching catechism at st Malachys in Horicon. Darlene could also be found at Dodge Center bowling with her friends. Darlene could throw a ball that shook the pins, lanes and building. She never missed a state tournament where she won a doubles 600 title and a state team title. Darlene was diagnosed with Ms in her mid-life and it never seemed to slow her down, not one step. Life was not easy with this diagnosis but she marched on every day raising her family. Darlene was proceeded in death by her Parents and her brother-in-law David Palmer Werner. But has left behind Ken Riese, 3 sons Daniel & Nicki Hoefs their children Devon, Liam and Hudson, Dustin & Hanna Riese their children Sabastion, sawyer and Remington, Derek Riese Three Siblings Debbie Werner-Lindert Wes Lindert, Ron & Diane Dukes, Todd Dukes. Many friends and extended family.
