Cathy Palzkill left a message on December 26, 2017:

I just learned of Jake's passing. Since moving back to the Level St. neighborhood in Dodgeville in 2014 I often wondered where Jake and Mary Beth had moved to while I was gone from Dodgeville. So sorry I had to learn about Jake and Mary Beth's move to Beaver Dam this sad way. Sincerest condolences to the family.

PAULETTE D. KILMER left a message on November 19, 2017:

I will miss Jake. He was a quiet man, but when he spoke, he sometimes made me laugh. Other times, he added seriously to the conversation, but perhaps his greatest gift was his genuine curiosity about other people and his friendliness. He knew his neighbor and shared with them the give-and-take of good neighbors. He found work where most of us would not think to look, and he liked to be outside often doing chores. Jake loved his wife, children, grandchildren and all of his extended family, and of course, his cats, who were family, too. I knew him nearly all of my adult life since he started dating my dear friend whom I met in the third grade, Mary Beth, and I am blessed to know the Jacobsons. I am sorry for the much early loss of Jake to cancer but eternally grateful for the years that I knew him.
