Sorry to hear of Dean's passing. Was hoping to make the visitation but it didn't work out. Will always remember my old neighbor and the years we hung out together. My thoughts and prayers with all of you. Dean will be sadly missed.
I was so very sorry and surprised to hear of Dean's passing. I will forever remember and treasure the kindness he showed to me on my first day of school at St. Pete's. Our family moved from Fox Lake to Beaver Dam that fall, and as a new fourth grader in a new school in a new town, it was so selfless of Dean to agree to meet me in front of the Church---- I could go there today and show you the exact spot!. Not knowing anyone and having an old acquaintance from the "mega-metropolis" of Fox Lake walk me to my new classroom and introduce me to some new classmates was one of many examples of Dean's good spirit. And, then of course there were the "occasional" covert trips over to Ziggy's during during some of the noon hours during school..... Do I recall correctly that he was a bit of an accordion player, too? While I obviously was never near the athlete that Dean was, he always seemed to find some "common ground" to talk and cajole about over the years. I regret that I hadn't see him for way too many years, and didn't know that his illness caught back up with him. No better guy than Dean. He was a very special individual that I will feel fortunate to have known----- even during that short time of our "youthful years!" Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you. Be assured that his goodness lives on in all of those that he touched.
Dear Hupf Family, I am so sorry to hear of Deans passing, please know you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Sending my sympathy and thoughts and prayers during your loss he was a great guy always had a smile on his face he was a good friend to my mom Barb Groleau and Daryl Groleau and he was also our mailman for a long time he lived a great life. You will be missed Dean (pooper) Hupf.
Sorry for your lost. God's blessings on Dean and all the Hupf family, may He always be with you.
To the Hupf family: my sympathy to all of you. I met Dean playing BASEBALL when we were 12 years old. He always joked how I was 28 days OLDER than him. I still remember he was the lefty hitter (1B) and I was the righty hitter (C) batting back to back in the lineup. Dean was the kind of guy ... if you saw him 5 years later you felt like it was 5 days! He always took time to say hi when I saw him on his mail route and talk a little sports ! SO sad of his decades long battle ... he seldom let on! Dean ALWAYS made us smile and anyone who played baseball became a lifetime friend. He was proud of all the D's in the family! Dean's SMILE & POSITIVENESS will be missed ! R.I.P. Dean - You'll be playing ball and making them smile i heaven! A 47 year friend since we were kids. Kurt Guenther
Leave a message in Dean's Guestbook. So sorry for your loss. I worked with Dean for a about 8 years at the Beaver Dam PO. He was always a lot of fun. I remember taking him for a ride on my Harley back in 1988 I believe. He is missed and will be missed. But his smile as stated will be forever in our minds eye.
Dean was someone who had a way of making you feel good whenever he'd see you. His warm smile and welcome sense of humor will always be an important memory and part of his legacy in our community. He will be missed. Thinking of all of you.
I am saddened to hear of the loss of Dean, it seems like it was a couple of weeks ago I ran into him coming out of Recheks, and joked with him a bit before heading into the store. I did not know he was ailing, other than I noticed how hunched over he was, and I figured it was from having been a carrier for so long! You have my deepest condolences and prayers to your family, Sincerely, Charles Hankes
To the Hupf family: My sincere sympathy to you in the loss of Dean. I always admired his courage in his battle with cancer. I admired his stick-to-it-iveness on the golf course. He was a good member of our Tuesday morning golf league at BDCC. He'll be missed.
