Debbie Wendorf

MIDDLETON – Debbie Wendorf, 68, Middleton, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at her home. Debbie was born on November 28, 1948 in Madison, the daughter of Frederick and Maxine (Hall) Brye. She was married to James E. Wendorf on March 25, 1974. Debbie was a 1967 graduate of Middleton High School. She graduated from Methodist School of Nursing in 1970. Following graduation, she worked at Methodist Hospital before moving on to become a transplant nurse at University Hospital and Clinics for 28 years prior to retirement. She was a member of St. Andrew Ev. Lutheran Church, Middleton, where she volunteered in a number of ways, including Vacation Bible School, choosing children’s books for the church library and working with the outdoor flowers. She had a very caring heart, and enjoyed finding ways to encourage others. Survivors include her husband Jim, one daughter, Sarah Wendorf, Middleton; two brothers, Steve Brye (Marcia Tank) of Mosinee; Kent Brye (Sandy) of Verona; two sisters, Susan Brye of Middleton, Shelly Brye of Las Vegas; one nephew, Craig Brye of Rice Lake; and two nieces, Jade Krol of Marshall and Katrina Brye of Verona; cousins; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Middleton from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. Rev. Randy Hunter will officiate. A meal will follow the funeral at the church. Interment will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Juneau, WI.
