Delores S. Gentz

Delores S. Gentz, 81, of Juneau passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau.

Delores was born on October 25, 1944 the daughter of Edwin and Flora (Kienow) Drews in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.  She was baptized on November 19, 1944 and confirmed in her faith in Jesus on June 5, 1960 at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.

Delores met her husband Gene at a dance at Turners Hall in Watertown.  They were united in marriage on May 8, 1965 at First Ev. Lutheran Church.  Delores and Gene were Dairy Farmers all of their life.  They sold their farm to their son in 2011 and moved to Juneau.

Delores enjoyed doing volunteer work at St. John’s School and Church.  She was a member of the Ladies Aid, where she had served all offices.  She was head of the Altar Committee.  She enjoyed hosting the Thanksgiving Dinner at Church for 24 years.  Delores also was the head of St. John’s School lunch program.  She also truly enjoyed helping in the preschool room for over 20 years and was affectingly known as Grandma.

Gene and Delores were blessed with three children: Dawn (Rev. John) Gore of Lafayette, IN, Mike (Audra) Gentz of Juneau and Andrew (Gina) Gentz of Juneau; six grandchildren: Owen and Emmett Gentz, Lucas Gentz, Brandon Steger, Teri Michael and Nyssa Tierney; five great grandchildren: Nora, Torren and Eloise Tierney, Ava and Callie Michael.  She is further survived by her sister Carol Lemke, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ray Drews and brother-in-law Michael Lemke.

A visitation for Delores will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau.  A funeral service will begin at Noon with Rev. Timothy Gumm officiating.  Interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
