It was so sad to open the paper, and see Dennis’ obituary in the newspaper on his birthday, besides.
Most of you don’t know me , my name is Laurie Jacob and became friends with Dennis and Steve when I found the office space and Mrs for PPX, Preferred Portable X-ray.
Every morning Dennis would drive in with his nice black truck, get out carrying his briefcase and his one package of instant oatmeal! But he would always stop and say good morning to me and make sure everything was ok.
Dennis always talked about his family. He was happy to be working with Steve everyday. But Dennis Jr. he sure talk about going to see you and working on the car. Going to car shows he just loved them too I could tell as he told me about them. Don’t forget the grandkids you were so important to him. He talked about you all the time too. He says to see his kids raise their kids is great, times have changed.
I loved talking to Dennis he was kind, polite, caring man. Then after I left because PPX shut down for good. Dennis and I would remember each other with Christmas cards. Run into each sometimes shopping . Give each other a big hug. He was a friend you wouldn’t see for a long time but we still could talk and laugh.
Dennis is up in heaven withhis wife Laurie. He sure missed her too. Now he is with her maybe dancing in heaven together.
I treasure the friendship I had with Dennis. The stories you told me. You boys were so lucky to have him for a Dad!
Steve I hope you remember me, I was in front answering the phones dispatching the X-rays to the techs. I am so sorry about your dad. The pain you feel in your heart today, will turn into great happy memories of your dad. Something you hear, see, a song, a time of year, Lots of things will make you remember your dad. I am thinking of you today, Steve.
To everyone, family was so important to Dennis, keep traditions going in the families…that would mean the world to him!
Even though I don’t know you I give you all a big hug to make it through this hard day,
Laurie Jacob
My deepest condolences to Dennis's family. may you find comfort in the days ahead.
Knew both Dennis & Steve when they both worked in Columbus.
Steve,
I remember a certain Packers/Bears game when your Dad and Mom came to our apartment at the time. The previous night you and I had been out late enjoying adult beverages. A pizza was burnt. We thought it was funny but your Dad didn't relish the idea of having to go to the morgue to identify you by your.....you know..
He was a wonderful person and I so sorry for your loss.
Peace be with you and your Family.
May our Lord bless and comfort you and your family during this time of grief.
