Donald A. Schoenecker, age 86, of Lomira, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022, Whispering Pines in Ripon, Wisconsin.
Funeral services for Donald will take place on Monday, January 2, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Lomira, Wisconsin with Rev. Matthew Kiecker officiating. Visitation for Donald will take place at church on Monday, January 2, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. the time of the service. Interment will follow the service at Union Cemetery in Theresa.
Don was born the son of Herbert and Emma Schoenecker on October 9, 1936, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was united in marriage to Patricia Kaufert on June 18, 1960, in Milwaukee. Don was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Lomira. He graduated from Custer High School in Milwaukee. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army. Don worked and retired from Milwaukee Courthouse as a printer. After retirement, Don and Pat opened Hillside Liquor. Later on, they opened and enjoyed running Don and Pat’s Beer House in Theresa.
Don enjoyed socializing and playing sheepshead, dartball, and bowling. He looked forward to his bus trips to various casinos as well as fishing.
Don will be missed by his children: Craig (Tammy) Schoenecker; Brian (Pam) Schoenecker; and Kim (Jeff) Zylka; his 7 grandchildren; many great- grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his loving wife, Patricia.
