Donald “Gus” Lee Kreuziger, age 82, of Horicon, Wisconsin passed away at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison on Sunday, June 2, 2024, with his loving family by his side.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon with Rev. Fr. Will Arnold presiding. A visitation for Donald will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow the service at St. Malachy’s Catholic Cemetery in Horicon.
Donald was born to Benedict and Gertrude (Vivoda) Kreuziger on February 7, 1942, in Clyman, Wisconsin. He was united in marriage to Shirley Beske on June 25, 1966, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyman. Donald attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon. He worked for many years and retired as a welder at Metalcraft.
Gus enjoyed passing the time cheering on all of the Wisconsin sports teams. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed being in nature. Gus also loved playing cribbage and sheepshead each week with friends.
Above all, Gus cherished his family and the time and memories they made together. A unique family dynamic is that Gus is a twin and also that he and his brother Raymond married sisters. His granddaughter, Sidney, was his world and he was so proud to be her Grandpa.
Gus is survived by his wife Shirley; son Troy (Traci) Kreuziger; granddaughter Sidney (Nick Rothstein) Kreuziger; and siblings: Marion Seiler, Donna (twin sister) France, Barbara (Rodney) Kohn, Raymond (Kathy) Kreuziger, and Steve Kreuziger, and brothers-in-law, Robert (Chris) Beske and Aubrey Weber. Gus was further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Gus was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters: Dorothy Weber, Geraldine Schumann, Sylvia Jean, and Karen Allen; and five brothers: Kenny, Earl, Robert, Paul, and Francis; brothers-in-law, Donny Allen, Paul Seiler, Kenneth Schumann, Ken France; sisters-in-law, Diane Kreuziger and Sharon Kreuziger.
