Both Ralph and Doris were such kind, compassionate people. I smile whenever I think about them. Doris, now you are with Ralph and smiling back.
My deepest sympathies to your family. Your mom had such a kind heart and soul.
The Rolando Nazario-Schulteis family honors the life and legacy of Aunt Doris, a steadfast pillar of faith, service, and devotion.
In 1955, Aunt Doris was instrumental in welcoming home her brother James, his wife Benedicta ("Bennie"), and their children to Beaver Dam from the Philippines Islands.
Even while preparing for her own marriage in October 1955, she worked tirelessly to bridge cultural divides and ease our transition into a new life in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, and the United States. She greatly assisted my parents in my education and enrollment into Beaver Dam High School, while my father was assigned to Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center, Alpena. Michigan.
This foundation of grace evolved into a lifelong bond of correspondence and sisterhood with her sister-in-law Benedicta ("Bennie") that spanned nearly seven decades until her passing at 98 in 2023.
Aunt Doris' life was defined by a selfless commitment to others. Aunt Doris leaves behind a profound legacy of love, cherished by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
With eternal love and gratitude,
Your Nephew, Rolando
Doris was very special. We worked together for many years with church and volunteering. I lost touch with her and couldn't get in touch with her. My thoughts and prayers are for her and loved ones.
A Tribute to Aunt Doris Delores Arndorfer from the John Schulteis and Family
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude that the Schulteis family honors the life of our beloved Aunt, Doris Delores Arndorfer. To many, Aunt Doris was a dedicated bookkeeper, a faithful member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, and a tireless volunteer for Meals on Wheels. To us, she was a the steady heart in our family—a woman whose life was defined by a quiet, fierce devotion to those she loved.
Aunt Doris’s legacy of service wasn't just found in her community work at Hillside Manor or Eagles Wings; it was most beautifully visible in the way she embraced her family. We will never forget the grace and open arms she extended to my father, her brother James’s family when we first arrived from the Philippines in 1955. In a time of transition and new beginnings, Aunt Doris was an anchor. She didn't just offer "help"; she offered us the feeling of home. From the practical—like navigating the enrollment of my oldest brother at her own alma mater, Beaver Dam High School—to the deeply personal, Aunt Doris ensured we were never alone.
Her loyalty was legendary. The bond she shared with my mom Benedicta ("Bennie" ), her sister-in-law, remained unbroken by time or distance, as Aunt Doris continued their faithful correspondence until mom’s passing at the age of 98 in 2023. This decades-long connection was a testament to Aunt Doris’s character: once you were in her heart, you were there forever.
Aunt Doris moved through the world with purpose and kindness. While she has gone to join her husband Ralph, her children Catherine and Steven, and her siblings who preceded her, the "Schulteis spirit" she carried so well lives on in all of us.
Aunt Doris, thank you for teaching us that the greatest work one can do is to care for one another. You will be deeply missed, but your love remains our guide.
With love and remembrance,
You Nephew John Schulteis and Family
Rest in Peace Doris.
I remember Doris fondly as we served on a church committee together. My deepest sympathy to Barb and her entire family. She will be missed.
