Dorothy J. Maas, 78 years of Juneau passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, WI.
Funeral Services for Dorothy will be on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau with the Rev. Paul Schupmann officiating. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, July 7th from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Juneau City Cemetery in Juneau.
Dorothy Jean was born on September 20, 1932 the daughter of Ernest and Viola (Lewerenz) Talmage in Boyceville, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of Amery High School. She was married to Alton Maas on June 20, 1953 in Deer Park, WI.
In her earlier years, she had been employed in Stillwater, MN and then later she had worked at Pauly’s Cheese Factory in Juneau. She was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau. Dorothy took great pride in being a loving wife and mother and enjoyed caring for her family and her home.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 58 years, Alton Muscles of Juneau; her four children: Barb (Bob) Zmek of Eagle River, Cindy French of Jackson, Darrell (Mary) Maas of Juneau and Laura Maas of Watertown; eleven grandchildren: Chris Maas, Amy Maas, Kevin Maas, Cheryl Konow, James Zmek, Bonnie Neumann, John Zmek, Erica Zmek, Randy Zmek, Eric French and Brian French; eight great grandchildren: Aria Maas, Sadie and Jaiden Konow, Jackson French, Jordon French, Jasmine and Brooke Neumann and Ryker Hafer; three sisters: Fern Wilbur, Carol Wilbur and Betty Clark; and her brother, Lloyd Talmadge. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Bob and Donald Talmage.
