Dorothy Kohlman

Dorothy Kohlman, 93, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on her birthday, December 26, 2017 at Dycora Transitional Nursing Home in Beaver Dam. A visitation for Dorothy will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam (N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam WI 53916). A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Scott Roen and Pastor Brandon Zieske officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in the Tn. of Trenton. Dorothy was born the daughter of George and Libby (Bedrich) Traeger on December 26, 1924 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On May 22, 1947 she was united in marriage with Marvin A. Kohlman in Milwaukee. Dorothy was employed by area shoe factories. Dorothy was a member of Harvest Evangelical Free Church in Beaver Dam. She loved music and could play many different instruments, but playing the harmonica was her favorite. She played in the Milwaukee American Legion Band. Dorothy also loved to sing, make crafts, and play bingo. Dorothy loved church and knew the Lord personally as her Lord and Savior. She is survived by her son; Dennis (Mary Lou) Kohlman of Plymouth, daughter; Sandi (Russell) Zieske of Beaver Dam, grandchildren; Brian Zieske, Michael (Jessica) Kohlman, Brandon (Carissa) Zieske, Matthew (Kristin) Kohlman, 15 great-grandchildren, and close friend and roommate Janet. She is further survived by other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1984, and sister; Kathryn Price. If desired, memorials may be directed to Hillside Hospice of Beaver Dam. The family would like to thank the staff at Dycora Nursing Home, and the staff at Hillside Hospice for their great care.
