Dorothy M. Eberle, age 84, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
There will be a gathering at Koepsell Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on May 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. with Deacon Ed Cody officiating. Entombment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Dorothy was born on September 5, 1938 in Columbus, Wisconsin, the ninth child of Herbert A. and Mabel (Hemling) Salzwedel. Her mother passed away when she was only ten months old. Dorothy was then adopted by her father’s sister and husband, Arthur and Lillian Gulke of Beaver Dam.
Dorothy attended St. Stephen’s School and Beaver Dam High School. On November 6, 1954, Dorothy was united in marriage with Robert A. Eberle in Beaver Dam and they had one son, Jefferey. Dorothy worked for many years for the Kroger Company and Sears in Beaver Dam. Along with her husband and son, they owned and operated Pasquale’s Restaurant, Bruiser’s Pub, and BoJo Amusements. Dorothy enjoyed the times she and her family shared on Castle Rock Lake and her many trips to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She loved her Schnauzers and her little Yorkie, Gertie. The times she spent with her son were the most important to her in later years.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Jeff (Susan) Eberle of Beaver Dam; two grandchildren, Chad Eberle of Wausau and Jennifer (Chip) Dykstra of Beaver Dam; great grandchildren, Skylar (Kristine) Eberle and Madison Dykstra, both of Beaver Dam; nieces nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six brothers, Gordon, Merlin, Herbert, Jr., Roger, Gerald, and Russell Salzwedel; and two sister, Marlene Schubring and Fay Ann Coachenour.
If desired, memorials may be made in Dorothy Eberle’s name to the Beaver Dam American Legion Baseball Lights Fund.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Hillside Manor and Hillside Homecare for the loving care they provided to Dorothy.

Dear Family:
As you all know Dorothy and I came into each other's lives when she married my brother Bob. We were only 3 years apart. We were like sisters for sure. Over the years we even worked together at Krogers!! over the years we made several trips to WI to see grandparents with our boys and of course uncle Bob and Aunt Dorothy. So many great memories. After my brother Bob passed away, Dorothy and I stayed in contact with my making a few visits to spend time just with Dorothy, we did shopping, cleaning, and cooking pork hocks and cabbage dinner each time!! and our favorite baking Blueberry Coffee Cake, which of course we always ate up!!! Over the years traveling became impossible, but we always had our weekly phone calls solving all the current problems ha,ha!! Will miss my weekly phone calls, but know it always meant so much to both of us-Love to Jeff and Sue and all your dear family, Rose
