Dorothy P. Newlun Martinsen

Dorothy P. Newlun Martinsen, 97, of Beaver Dam and formerly of Waupun passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam. Dorothy was born the daughter of Henry and Augusta (Ristau) Weigelt on March 5, 1922 in Oconto, WI. Dorothy was employed with the Christian Home in Waupun as a CNA for many years. She was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. She was an avid sports fan, watching the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting events. Dorothy had a love of music and will be remembered for her singing. She was a generous and loving mom and grandma who will be sadly missed. Dorothy is survived by her daughters: Pamela (Art) Meyer Penfield of Madison and Deb (Jim) Stange of Beaver Dam; her grandchildren: Nicole (Chris) Garza of Wauwatosa and Breann Stange (Jason Wood) of Beaver Dam; five great-grandchildren: Kyle, Wyatt, Xavier, Stella, and Scarlett; as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Newlun; her husband, Glen Martinsen; and nine brothers and sisters. A memorial gathering will be held at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. Rev. Robert Moberg will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, township of Trenton. Dorothy’s family would like to thank Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam especially the staff of the Monarch Hall for all their wonderful care and support.
