Edward A. Schumann

June 29, 1937 - August 23, 2006

Edward F. Schumann, age 69, formerly of Beaver Dam, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at his home in Janesville.

Visitation for Edward will be held at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Saturday, August 26, 2006 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Saturday, beginning at 11:00 AM. Rev. David King will officiate. Burial will follow at the Lowell Cemetery.

Edward Fredrick Schumann was born on June 29, 1937 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Alfred and Dorothy (Wessels) Schumann. Following graduation from Beaver Dam High School in 1955, he worked on the family farm in the Town of Lowell until he retired from farming in 1988. On August 10, 1974, Ed was united in marriage with Laurene Wessels at the Alto Reformed Church. He played the accordion and enjoyed polka music. Ed also enjoyed square dancing with the Swinging Beavers Club. Ed loved his grandchildren and enjoyed the time he was able to spend with them.

Survivors include his wife, Laurene Schumann of Janesville, his son, Eric (Joanna) Schumann of Janesville, two grandchildren, Mitchell and Julia, other relatives and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Dorothy Schumann.
