Edwin “Ted” J. Patey, age 85, of rural Reeseville, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2007 at his home.
Visitation for Ted will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at the Lowell United Methodist Church from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM. The funeral service will follow the visitation at the Church at 7:30 PM with Rev. Charles Brizius and Rein Couperus officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha on Wednesday. There will be a visitation at the Prairie Home Cemetery Chapel on Wednesday, May 23, 007, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow the visitation at the cemetery.
Edwin James “Ted” Patey was born on April 10, 1922, in the Town of Waukesha, Waukesha County, to the late Charles and Ida Mae (Sleep) Patey. On August 23, 1947, he was united in marriage to Patricia Gustine in Waukesha.
Ted was a graduate of the Waukesha High School and was a member of the Waukesha County Guernsey Association. He was a 4-H leader of the Brookdale 4-H Club of Waukesha and a past member of the Town of Waukesha Fire Dept. He farmed in the Town of Waukesha until 1971, when he moved to Reeseville to farm with his son, Sid. He was an active member of the Lowell United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his son, Sid (Joyce) Patey of Reeseville, three grandchildren, Kristin (Mike) Wagner of Glendale, Kari Patey of NY, NY, and Jay (FiancAC.e Casey Magyar) of Reeseville, two sisters, Verna North of Burlington and Myrtle Hubman of Waukesha, brother-in-law, Leo Kerstein of Waukesha, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, on October 29, 1995, his daughter, Cherry Patey on August 15, 2001, and a sister, Margaret Kerstein.
Memorials in Ted Patey”s name should be made to the Parkinson Foundation.
