Eileen C. Hurckman

Eileen C. Hurckman, age 88, of Columbus passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the Larson House in Columbus.Visitation for Eileen will be held on Wednesday, January 13 from 4:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. at the Koepsell Zeidler Funeral Home in Columbus, WI., and again on Thursday, January 14 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Columbus, WI. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Columbus, WI with Rev. Robert Wilke officiating, with burial to follow at Hillside Cemetery, Columbus, WI. Eileen was born on September 23, 1927 the daughter of George and Savilla (Singer) Peters in Calamus. She was a 1945 graduate of Fall River High School. Eileen was united in marriage to Robert H. Hurckman on July 19, 1946 at Zion Lutheran in Columbus. She farmed in the Waterloo and Reeseville area with her husband and also was employed at the Vanholten Pickle Factory. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Columbus. In her spare time, Eileen enjoyed puzzle books, jigsaw puzzles, and a good game of euchre. Most important to Eileen was her family and cherished time spent with them.Eileen is survived by her husband of 69 years-Robert of Columbus. Her children- Fredrick (Patricia) Hurckman of Randolph, Susan (David) Etter of Arkdale, and Ronald (Cheryl) Hurckman of Columbus. Her 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Her sister Jean Kraft. She is further survived by other relatives & friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandsons- Michael Hurckman and Gregory Etter, siblings- Arnold Peters, Inez Howe, Verna Geiger, Myrtle Waterworth, Melba Lange, Lucille Berg, Viola Krause, and 2 others in infancy. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
