Eileen N. Gentz, 90, of the township of Oak Grove passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Charleston Memory Care in Beaver Dam surrounded by her family.
Eileen was born on April 26, 1934 the daughter of Paul and Mabel (Wittchow) Uttech in Lebanon, Wisconsin. She was baptized on May 9, 1934 and later confirmed in faith on April 18, 1948. Eileen was married to Donald M. Gentz on October 15, 1955 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lebanon, Wisconsin.
Eileen was a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam and formerly a member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Oak Grove.
Eileen dairy farmed with her husband in rural Juneau for many years. She was a caring and happy homemaker. She treasured being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Eileen loved the holidays with her whole family gathered around the dining room table enjoying her cooking and baked treats. She also enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. Later, she was employed at Green Giant Canning Factory where she enjoyed her time spent with her coworkers.
Eileen is survived by her children: Steven (Alice) Gentz of Juneau, Susan (Bryan) Woltman of Beaver Dam, Kenneth (Tracy) Gentz of Springhill, FL, Mary (Rick) Grundman of Mosinee, and Thomas (Donna) Gentz of Mason, OH; 14 grandchildren: Aubrey (Kevin) Hayes, Crystal (Steve) Schultz, Matthew (Vicki) Gentz, Benjamin (Julie) Gentz, Melissa Woltman, Daniel (Merissa) Woltman, Alicia (Brad) Weber, Ashley (Tyler) Romanowski, Hannah Gentz (fiancé Joseph Knight), Aaron (Evelyn) Gentz, Nathan Grundman, Lucas (Jessica) Grundman, Nicholas Gentz, and Hunter Gentz; 17 great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Cal, Alayna, Emma, Owen, Autumn, Alyssa, Bentley, Norah, Nolan, Hayden, Miles, Olivia, Sienna, Matthew, Jacob, and Aaron; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Donald; her parents, Paul and Mabel Uttech, her in-laws Albert and Elizabeth Gentz, a son in infancy, brothers: Raymond (Irene) Uttech, Elmer Uttech, Melvin (Beulah) Uttech, Floyd (Frances) Uttech, and her sister Margaret (Ewald) Krohn.
A visitation will be held at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev. Philip Heyer will officiate. Interment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, township of Oak Grove.
