Elizabeth ‘Liz’ J. Gallenbeck ,age 57, of Horicon, WI passed away on Saturday, June 4 at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc. A memorial service for Liz will be held on June, 11 at 11a.m. at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church, Horicon with Rev. Daniel Seehafer officiating. A visitation will be held on June 11, from 9 a.m. till 11 a.m. at church. Liz was born on March 29, 1959 in Milwaukee, the daughter of John and Evangeline (nee Becker) Gunka. She was a UW-Platteville graduate. She was united in marriage to David L. Gallenbeck on April 27, 1985 in Burnett, WI. She was employed at Nehls Brothers Farms Ltd. where she took care of the bookwork and payroll. She was a member of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon. In 2000 Liz and Lori Marschke with great success started the St. Stephen Lutheran School Auction. They were both proud of the successful path that it has taken. In her spare time, Liz enjoyed fishing and Harley rides with her husband Dave. She also loved taking care of her garden and flowers especially orchids.Liz is survived by her husband- David of Horicon. Her son- John Gallenbeck of Burnett. Her mother- Evangeline Gunka. Her brother- Herbert ‘Herb’ (Sue) Gunka. Her mother in law- Bonnie Gallenbeck Sisters in law- Diane Gunka and Nancy (John) Bandsma. She is further survived by other relatives & friends.She was preceded in death by her father John, brother John, sister Margaret Schwamn, and father in law Lyle Gallenbeck. Liz fearlessly fought cancer for over 16 years and always surprised everyone with her positive attitude and her will to never give up hope.In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc or the charity of one’s choice.It’s with wings that I flee this earth to have my final birth. Remember; do not cry for I did not die. Lift your eyes up high. Look to the Son and see the battle won!

Todd and I have many great memories with Liz, especially sturgeon fishing and our annual Thiede cousins weekend. It is the memories of those we lost that sustain us through the hard times.
