Elsmer C. Zimmerman, age 88, of Fox Lake, died on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at his home. The memorial gathering will be at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Fox Lake, Wisconsin on Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. David Nottling will be officiating and inurnment will be at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin with military honors provided by the Fox Lake American Legion Post #521. Elsmer Carl Zimmerman was born on September 11, 1927 in Burnett, Wisconsin to Reinhold and Elsie (Hartwig) Zimmerman. On September 18, 1954, he was united in marriage with Eileen Rahn at Friedens Ev. Lutheran Church in Randolph. Elsmer proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Fox Lake American Legion Post #521. He was a lifelong farmer in the Fox Lake and Waupun areas. Elsmer was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fox Lake. Survivors are his wife, Eileen; sons, David (Shirley) of Fox Lake, James (Deborah), of Fox Lake, Mark of Randolph, Glen (Donna J.) of Waupun, Neil (Pamela) of Kenosha, and Ken (Donna M.) of Fox Lake; brothers and sister, Reinhold (Agnes) of Beaver Dam, Roy (Nordean) of Colby, Duane (Dorothy) of Fox Lake, Dennis (Arlene) of Fox Lake, and LuAnn (Fredrick) Degner of Watertown; sister-in-law, Elaine Zimmerman of Markesan; grandchildren, Anne Zimmerman of Madison, Natalie and Emma Zimmerman of Fox Lake, Elizabeth (Christopher) Thurk of Fox Lake, Matthew (Hannah) Zimmerman of Randolph, Adam (Cassandra) Zimmerman of Fox Lake, Samantha (Samuel) Scott of Madison, Alexander Zimmerman (fiancée, Vanessa DeGroff) of Randolph, Alina (Andrew) Schmidt of Oshkosh, Lisa and Nicolas Zimmerman of Waupun, Jill (Darren) Ruff of Mayville, Lauren (Stuart) Bischel of Pewaukee, Erin (David) Gemperline of Madison, Jacob (Maria) of Pewaukee, Derek of La Crosse, Cassandra Zimmerman (Drew Dehn) of Beaver Dam, Christina Zimmerman of Madison, Justin, Sarah, and Jennifer Zimmerman of Fox Lake; great grandchildren, Morgan, Averie, Parker, and Isaac Thurk, Madelynn and Wynn Bischel; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Elsmer was preceded in death by his parents, a brother in infancy; brother, Wilbert; sister, Iris (John) Pantazon; daughter-in-law, Tami Zimmerman. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Elsmer C. Zimmerman’s name may be made to St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church and School, Hillside Hospice or charity of one’s choice.
