Eric F. Quandt, 73, of Green Lake passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2nd, 2024 at his home in Green Lake.
Eric was born to Clifford and Claire (Adastik) Quandt on June 22nd, 1951 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School and attended the University of Wisconsin, with a B.S in 1973 and a J.D in 1976.
After graduating law school, Eric moved to the Chicago area, where he raised a family. Eric was an active member of the community, co-founding the Winnetka Community House youth basketball league, which remains very popular to this day, and coaching youth sports. He enjoyed tennis, golf, sailing, and music.
Eric had a notable legal career, specializing in product liability, medical malpractice defense, and sports medicine, including representing athletes, team physicians, athletic directors and athletic trainers across collegiate and professional sports. Eric was published in the New England Journal of Medicine and had speaking engagements for the American Bar Association, the National Athletic Trainers Association, and the National Football League.
After retiring, Eric moved back to Wisconsin, where he loved hosting family and friends at the cottage he built on the shores of Green Lake. He was an enthusiastic, outgoing, and genuine person, who could start a conversation or make a friend wherever his travels took him.
Eric is survived by his brother Scott Quandt, his son Robert Quandt, daughter Erica McGuire, grandchildren: Chase Quandt, Lexi Quandt, Luke Quandt, and Cooper McGuire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Claire Quandt.
Private family services will be held and Eric will be laid to rest next to his parents at Highland Memory Gardens, Town of Trenton, Wisconsin.
A Celebration of Eric’s Life will be held at a local establishment in Green Lake in the Spring of 2025, where cherished memories and fond stories of a life well lived will be shared. Details will follow at a later date.
