Evelyn E. Schuhmacher, age 82, of Waterloo and formerly of Reeseville, died on Monday, April 30, 2007, at her home surrounded by her family.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, May 5, 2007, at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church in Lowell, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The funeral service will follow the visitation, on Saturday, at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Paul Vander Galien officiating. Burial will be in Washington Cemetery in the Town of Portland, Dodge County.
The former Evelyn Esther Yerges was born on September 4, 1924, in the Town of Lowell, the daughter of Louis and Esther (Krueger) Yerges. On October 14, 1945, she was united in marriage to LeRoy Schuhmacher at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Reeseville. Evelyn farmed with her husband for many years and also worked at the shoe factory and Van Holtens in Waterloo. She was an outstanding vegetable gardener and was famous with her family for her pickles. She was a member of Salem Ev. Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her five children, Carol (Thomas) Kionka of Milwaukee, Diana Michi of Waterloo, Eileen Horn of Menomonee Falls, Gary (Diane) Schuhmacher of Waterloo and Sandra Berndt of Waterloo, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, LeRoy on September 18, 1997; three brothers, Arnold, LeRoy and Stanley Yerges.
The family of Evelyn Schuhmacher wishes to give a special thank you to Kelly Mallow for her tender loving care of their mother, to the nurses of Rainbow Hospice and Dr. Sam poser.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Evelyn Schuhmacher”s name to Salem Ev. Lutheran Church or the charity of one”s choice.
