Florence Emma Tracy Sager, age 94, of Beaver Dam, died Friday, June 30, 2006 at the Beaver Dam Care Center.
Friends and family may call at Peace Lutheran Church, 400 Hillcrest Drive in Beaver Dam, on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at church on Wednesday, beginning at 1:00 PM. Rev. Daniel T. Torkelson will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
Florence was born on March 30, 1912 in Salem, South Dakota to the late Adam and Emma (Harsh) Kunkle. On November 19, 1930, she was united in marriage with Oscar J. Sager in Breckenridge, Minnesota. Together they farmed in Minnesota and South Dakota until they moved to Wisconsin in 1945. They continued to farm in Wisconsin until 1955 when they moved to Beaver Dam and Florence enjoyed other jobs including child care and cleaning. She then became a nurses aide at Hillside Hospital until she retired to provide full-time care for her husband. Florence was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Gladys Sager of Wisconsin Rapids; two grandchildren, Scott Sager of Round Lake, Illinois and Karie Sager of Menasha; two nieces, Carol Lockwood and Phyllis Marthaler, both of Beaver Dam; many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Oscar in 1993, her son, LaVern Sager in 2003, five brothers and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in Florence Sager”s name to Peace Lutheran Church, 400 Hillcrest Drive, Beaver Dam, WI 53916.
